מחברו של הניגון הוא ר' אהרון חריטונוב, מגדולי בעלי המנגנים בחב"ד.
אדמו"ר הריי"צ מאוד אהב את הניגון הזה ונתן לו את שמו "הבינוני" על
שם הדרגה אליה חייב לשאוף כל יהודי, כפי שמבואר בספר התניא של
אדמו"ר הזקן. הריי"צ אמר: "קשה להיות 'בינוני' [של ספר התניא] אבל
לשיר את הניגון 'בינוני' לא צריך להיות קשה".
Composed by Reb Aharon Charitonov, one of the masters of Chabad niggunim. The Rebbe Rayatz was particularly fond of this niggun and named it “The Beinoni,” referring to the level that every Jew has to strive for, as is explained in the Tanya. The Rebbe Rayatz once said: “It is hard to be a ‘Beinoni’, but it shouldn’t be hard to sing the niggun of the ‘Beinoni’.
